Getting Started · Welcome
One screen for your whole restaurant — orders, kitchen, menu, stock, loyalty and reports — with five AI agents working in the background. This academy teaches all of it, step by step, in plain language.
foodash's motto says it best: one screen, the whole restaurant. This guide is for everyone on the team — owners, managers, cashiers, waiters and kitchen staff — and assumes no technical background.
Every section shows which roles use it. If a screen doesn't appear for you, your role doesn't need it — that keeps things simple and secure.
foodash opens in any web browser — the iPad at the counter, a phone in the office, or a laptop at home. Nothing to install.
Go to foodash.ae in Safari or Chrome. On the iPad, add it to your Home Screen so it opens like an app.
Use the login your owner or manager created for you. Everyone has their own — never share one login.
A cashier opens the POS Screen, a chef the Kitchen display, an owner the Dashboard.
“Invalid login.” Check for a typo or stray space; passwords are case-sensitive.
“Account not active.” The trial or subscription needs attention — ask the owner to open Settings.
foodash has one simple layout: a menu down the left, your work in the middle, a search and alerts bar across the top.
It's grouped exactly like the app:
Only the sections your role uses appear. The footer reads “one screen, the whole restaurant.”
foodash has five roles, in order of access: Owner → Manager → Cashier → Waiter → Kitchen. Each sees only what it needs.
Owner — everything: billing, settings, staff, all reports. Included.
Manager — day-to-day operations, menu, inventory, reports. Paid add-on (AED 50/month).
Cashier — POS, orders, payments, discounts. Included.
Waiter — POS and Floor Plan, sending orders to the kitchen. Included.
Kitchen — the Kitchen Display only. Paid add-on (AED 50/month).
The first time you sign in, foodash asks four quick questions about your business — that's the whole setup. No menu or stock to build yet; that comes later, inside the app.
Business name, city, your role, number of employees, and a contact phone.
Pick your type — Café, Casual Dining, Fine Dining, Cloud Kitchen, Kiosk, Food Truck or Catering — and your cuisine.
Choose your service styles (for example dine-in, takeaway, delivery). You can pick more than one.
Tell foodash whether you charge 5% VAT, and add your TRN (15 digits) if you do. Required once annual revenue passes AED 375,000.
Your home screen — a live read on the day. It opens with a greeting, today's numbers, and a shortcut to your AI assistant.
The POS Screen is where every order is built and paid — designed for a busy counter on an iPad.
Tap + New order, then choose Dine-in or Takeaway at the top. Open orders show along the top bar (e.g. #1005 · Sent).
In the Cart, Pick a table from the Floor Plan (or from the list) and tap the number of guests.
Tap items from the grid — Boring Tea, Basboosa, Mango Pudding, and so on. Use the category tabs (All Items, TEA, Desserts, Drinks…) or Search menu.
For items with options (like cup type), choose them in the popup.
Press the indigo Send to Kitchen → button. It appears instantly on the Kitchen display.
When the guest is done, open the order and record the payment (cash/card); the table moves to Bill paid.
A live map of your tables — who's seated, who's mid-meal, and which bills still need clearing.
The top shows live stats — “0 of 2 occupied”, utilization %, and avg turn time — plus + Floor, Edit layout and + New Table. Each table is colour-coded:
Available — empty and ready to seat.
Occupied · running tab — guests seated with an open order.
Bill paid · needs busing — paid; clear and reset for the next guests.
Use + New Table and Edit layout to match your real room; add more rooms with + Floor.
Tap a table to start its order in the POS; it turns to Occupied.
After payment it shows Bill paid · needs busing — reset it to Available.
The Kitchen screen replaces paper tickets with live order cards — in dark mode, readable across a hot, busy kitchen.
The moment one is sent, a card appears — with a sound that repeats so it's never missed in a rush. The header shows active count, oldest, avg, and done today.
Each card shows the ticket number, Dine-in / Takeaway, the items with quantities (1×), and modifiers like “Cup Type: Paper Cup”. A timer turns red and shows LATE when an order has waited too long.
When the dish is ready, tap to clear it. Use Back to POS to leave the display.
No sound? Tap the screen once (browsers need one tap before playing audio) and check the device volume — the speaker icon is top-right.
Your menu drives the POS. Organise it into categories, add items with AED prices and prep time, and offer choices with modifiers.
Live stats — categories, items, active, and average price — plus Add Category, Modifiers, Upload (bulk import) and + Add Item.
Use the tabs (TEA, Desserts, Drinks, Sandwiches, Paratha…) or Add Category.
+ Add Item — name, AED price, category, and prep time (e.g. “10 min prep”).
Link choices like cup type or extras so they pop up at the POS.
The green dot means active. Switch an item off when you run out — without deleting it. Edit any card to change it.
Track what you have, get warned before you run out, and keep counts honest — so you never disappoint a guest over a missing ingredient.
Live totals — items, suppliers, need attention, and on-hand value — plus Categories, Upload, Closing audit, and + Add item. The four cards summarise Total Items, Low / Critical, On-Hand Value, and Recipes Powered.
Each item has a unit, cost, supplier and a reorder-at level. Group them (Dairy & Eggs, Dry Store, Tea Leaves…).
Made something in bulk (a spread, a sauce)? Save it as a Prep item and use it inside recipes.
Items below their reorder level show as need attention — the cue to raise a purchase order.
Use Closing audit to count physically and correct the system to match.
Order stock, receive deliveries, and keep your suppliers straight — all in one place. The motto on the page: “Stock coming in.”
Purchase Order — raise an order to a supplier (the AI Reorder agent can draft one for you).
Receiving Log — log a delivery as it arrives.

Z Report — the end-of-day sales summary.
VAT Report — your 5% VAT figures for filing.
Adjustments — voids and corrections.
Activity log — who did what.
Send to WhatsApp — push the summary to your phone.
Ask Dash is your conversational assistant. It reads your real data — sales, stock, waste, customers — and answers in plain English.
Find it under AI · Growth. The header reads “Ask anything about your business.”
Try “Why are my main course sales down this week?”, “What should I order this week?”, “Best-selling items in the last month”, or “Which ingredients are running low?”
Press Enter to send (Shift+Enter for a new line). Past conversations are saved under Recent chats; start fresh with New chat.
This is what makes foodash different: five agents read your live data, spot patterns, draft purchase orders, and answer questions — working 24/7.
Anomaly — spots unusual patterns (sudden spikes, missing days, oversized waste). Runs daily.
Forecast — predicts sales, stock needs and peak hours up to 14 days ahead. Runs weekly.
Reorder — watches stock and drafts purchase orders before you run out. Runs on a low-stock threshold.
Insights — a plain-English summary of how the café is doing. Runs daily.
Dash Chat — powers Ask Dash; answers natural-language questions. On demand.
Each card has a toggle and a frequency. The header shows Total Agents, Active, With Insights and Total Runs.
Open Configure to change how often an agent runs or how aggressive it is.
Tap Run now any time; the latest insight shows on the card (e.g. “Looking good — nothing flagged”).
Turn first-timers into regulars with digital stamp cards customers save to Apple or Google Wallet — no plastic, no app to download.
Open Program rules to define the reward (e.g. buy 9, get the 10th free) and Customize card for the look.
Share the Apple Wallet or Google Wallet QR — the card lives on the customer's phone. Staff can also Enroll customer at the counter.
Every paid order adds a stamp once a customer is enrolled.
When the card is full, the reward is applied at the POS.
The headline numbers track Enrolled, Repeat Rate, Rewards Redeemed and Loyalty Revenue.
Add your team, assign roles, and control who sees what. The page motto: “Your team, your way.”
Tap Add user, enter their name and email; they receive a login.
Owner → Manager → Cashier → Waiter → Kitchen. Roles bundle the right powers; access updates instantly.
Seats by role shows what's used. Owner, Cashier and Waiter are included; Manager and Kitchen are paid (AED 50/month), and extra seats are AED 50/month — tap Unlock or Add seat to add instantly.
The owner's control room — “Make it yours.” Update business details, VAT, delivery partners, alerts, and your subscription.
Set your restaurant name, type (Café, Casual Dining…), cuisine, phone, city, contact email and address. Remember to Save changes.
Add the platforms you take orders from (e.g. Talabat). They appear as chips on the POS when you ring up a takeaway — “Walk-in” should usually stay.
