If you are shortlisting a POS for a cafe or restaurant in the UAE, Sapaad will come up. It is an established regional player with a Dubai office on Zabeel Road, a local number, and customers across several countries. This comparison is written for one reader: the owner who counts stock and wants to know what a full year will really cost. Every Sapaad figure below comes from Sapaad's own UAE pricing page.

Everyone publishes the headline. Nobody publishes the total. Here is ours.

What each one tells you about price

Sapaad publishes prices, and deserves credit for it. On its UAE page every figure is in US dollars, per outlet, per month, and marked tax exclusive. Billed annually, its plans are $129 for Essentials, $159 for Growth+ and $239 for Enterprise, and it offers a 14 day free trial. foodash is AED 400 a month, or AED 3,600 for the year, in dirhams, also before 5% VAT.

Dollars matter in a dirham business. Your accountant books a foreign currency line every month, and nothing on that page is a dirham figure you can drop straight into a budget. Ours is.

Even Sapaad's entry plan billed annually, Essentials at $129, comes to about AED 5,685 a year for one outlet, and it has no inventory on its card. Our annual plan is AED 3,600 with inventory, the kitchen display, cash drawer audits, reports and five AI agents inside it.

Your stock counts itself

Every order deducts its recipe from the shelf the moment it is sent. Every night the Inventory agent sets last night's count against what you sold and names the gap, and Reorder drafts the purchase order for you to send. You find out that the oat milk is running low on Wednesday, not when it runs out on Friday.

The drawer adds up before you go home

Counted cash against what the system says came in, every session, with the difference named and the person who counted it on the record.

Where Sapaad fits

Sapaad is the wider operation, with locations in four countries and plans built for groups: its Enterprise card lists a multi brand dashboard, ERP connections and mall reporting. If you run a chain across several brands or countries, weigh that seriously. foodash is built for the UAE only. VAT is 5% and always will be here, the business day closes at four in the morning because that is when a Dubai cafe actually closes, and alerts go to WhatsApp because that is where your team already is. A product built for one market can make decisions a product built for many cannot.

Read this before you use any of it. Every statement above about Sapaad comes from Sapaad's own website, read on 30 September 2026, and prices change. Dollar figures are converted at the fixed rate of AED 3.6725. All figures on both sides are before 5% VAT. Ask both vendors for a current written quote covering software, hardware, setup and any fee taken on each sale, then compare the totals. foodash's number needs no quote: it is on the pricing page.
